Orange County’s only coastal outlet destination is a place for SoCal visitors to shop and save. Located in a charming beach town south of Anaheim, the Outlets at San Clemente feature nearly 60 stores and restaurants offering significant savings of up to 70 percent off retail. Browse apparel and souvenir selections, grab a bite to eat or discover a new place to unwind—the vast directory means there’s something for everyone at the open-air shopping, dining and entertainment center.

Shop and Dine

Since opening in 2015, the Outlets at San Clemente has continued to introduce new retailers into its diverse mix. Surf fans will enjoy the recently opened Hurley Factory Store, a brand founded by local surfboard shaper Bob Hurley in the ’90s. Find swimwear and apparel for the whole family before visiting one of O.C’s beaches along the 42 miles of coastline. Fashionistas can peruse offerings at Kevin Jewelers or MadaLuxe Vault; the latter features designers such as Gucci, Fendi, Versace and Saint Laurent with up to 70 percent off. Lastly, the opening of the San Clemente Store makes it easier than ever for visitors to bring home a piece of vacation paradise. The shop offers a selection of works from local artisans and San Clemente-inspired gifts.

As for dining, Outlets at San Clemente currently offers two Southern California-based restaurants – Slapfish and Ruby’s Diner. Slapfish is a modern seafood shack that started in Huntington Beach and is best known for their incredible lobster rolls and chowder fries. The Ruby’s Diner location features decor inspired by San Clemente’s local surf culture, including a surfboard chandelier and vintage San Clemente surf photos. Other eateries include Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, Blaze Pizza, Bowlology, Panera Bread, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Ruby’s Diner, Slapfish and U-Swirl Frozen Yogurt.

Events and Offers

Year-round, the Outlets at San Clemente hosts fun events and sales for visitors. Through August, for example, save an additional 20 percent off more than 25 participating retailers with the “back to school” offer. This October, a month-long celebration of breast cancer awareness in partnership with Susan G. Komen Orange County includes a fundraiser and special events honoring survivors, thrivers and angels. Holiday festivities like the Fourth Annual Tree Lighting Celebration (Nov. 17), Halloween Candy Crawl (Oct. 27) and Menorah Lighting (Dec. 9) add seasonal cheer for visitors of all ages. Centerwide activities and offers, as well as those from individual retailers, are posted throughout the year on the website at ShopOSC.com.

Coming Soon

There’s much to look forward to at the outlet destination in the coming months, as it plans several new openings through 2019. A highly anticipated debut in late summer 2018 is Rockwell’s Café & Bakery, a full-service restaurant that will offer sophisticated comfort food for breakfast, lunch and dinner — and, of course, signature creative cakes that made the bakery a favorite in Orange County. Four additional ocean-view restaurants will be announced soon and upon completion, there will be more than a dozen dining establishments at the center.

Entertainment will also be added to the mix by late 2019 with the addition of a 45,000-square-foot luxury cinema. Metropolitan Theatres will feature 10 auditoriums, a 60-foot premium large format screen, reserved recliner seating and a restaurant with full bar.
