Festive winter celebration set to take place November 29 – January 5
CHICAGO - (Nov. 12, 2019) – Great Wolf Lodge celebrates the most festive time of year with its annual Snowland celebration taking place Nov. 29, 2019 through Jan. 5, 2020. Families will soak up the holiday spirit with daily snow showers in the Grand Lobby, visits from Santa and a variety of festive seasonal activities. During this seasonal celebration families can enjoy an escape from the chilly winter weather at the resort’s expansive 84-degree indoor water park while also experiencing the most magical holiday gift of all - time together as a family.
Beyond spreading holiday cheer during Snowland, Great Wolf Lodge is looking to help grant wishes for children facing critical illnesses by partnering with Make-A-Wish® on a special holiday-themed wolf ear promotion. Starting Nov. 24, Great Wolf Lodge will sell festive Santa Hat Wolf Ears for $8.99 at the front desk and Buckhorn retail outlet, with $2 from each sale being donated to Make-A-Wish. The campaign runs until Jan. 5, 2020 or until supplies run out – the number of Santa Hat Wolf Ears available for purchase is limited to 15,000 ears across all U.S. resorts.
Families will feel the warmth of the holiday season the moment they arrive at Great Wolf Lodge as the resort transforms into a magical wonderland with twinkling lights, shimmering holiday trees, daily snow showers, and other cheerful decorations. Much of the whimsical holiday décor is centered around the Grand Lobby, which is also home to the new nightly Snowfall Celebration. This interactive show provides plenty of holiday joy as families gather to ring jingle bells, sing seasonal melodies and participate in dance numbers to conjure a magical snow flurry inside the lobby.
Families can take part in the new Great Wolf Lodge Polar Bear Plunge where kids draw their own polar bear on an “iceberg” and send it racing down one of the slides inside the waterpark.
Great Wolf Lodge is spreading some extra Snowland cheer this year with the all-new Frosty Fest. This new collection of complimentary activities is sure to deliver some holiday joy with interactive games such as Feed the Snow Monster, Reindeer Antler Toss and Pin the Nose on Mr. Snowman. In the evening, families can rock around the lobby during the Frosty Fest Family Dance Party, which features a contemporary mix of holiday hits that will have everyone on their feet and dancing.
Guests will discover Snowland activities from morning to night, starting with holiday-inspired version of Yoga Tails called ‘Twas the Morning Before Snowland and continuing through evening where families will gather for a special StoryTime event featuring Great Wolf’s signature holiday story, Unique as a Snowflake. Stationed in the lobby is a Hot Cocoa Bar, pouring cups of the winter season libation. This unique hot cocoa bar provides guests with the ability to add customizable options to their drink, such as peppermint and cinnamon sticks or enhanced flavors like vanilla or caramel. There are also options for parents to add a splash of traditional holiday spirits to their cocoa, such as peppermint schnapps, Kahlua, Baileys and more. There is a nominal fee for the hot cocoa bar experience.
Of course, no holiday celebration is complete without a Visit with Santa. Old Saint Nick will arrive in grand fashion the Saturday after Thanksgiving and will meet with all the good little girls and boys on select days throughout the Snowland event – schedule varies by resort.
The whimsy of the season extends to the guest rooms as Great Wolf Lodge offers a limited number of holiday-themed Snowland Suites during the Snowland celebration. With giant snowflakes hanging from the ceiling, an in-room Christmas tree and other seasonal accents, these special suites bring to the life the magic of Snowland and immerse families in the spirit of the holidays. To book a Snowland Suite, guests must use promotional code SNOWFLAKE.
In addition to two days of play in the water park for each night booked at Great Wolf Lodge, unless noted, all Snowland activities are included complimentary as part of an overnight stay. Activities vary daily and based on location. A complete listing of daily activities is provided to guests upon check-in, or guests can download the Great Wolf Lodge app for a schedule of Snowland events.
Great Wolf Lodge can also arrange a Snowland-inspired experience for groups looking for a unique venue to host a corporate or family holiday gathering. For more information, please visit greatwolfgroups.com.
