For a second year, the City, in collaboration with the Garden Grove Unified School District (GGUSD), will transform Village Green park into an outdoor, interactive art festival for the 2nd Annual Art in the Park. The community is invited to attend the free event on Saturday, March 7, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Village Green park, located at 12732 Main Street.
This year’s event will include new activities for all ages to enjoy, including a LEGO® Creation Station, hosted by LUGOLA (LEGO® User Group of LA); DIY mini-koinobori, also known as a Japanese flying carp kite, led by GGUSD alumni Tiffany Le; a “no bake” culinary class led by a professional chef; and a “Paint and Sip” experience with local artist Melissa Murphy and SteelCraft Garden Grove’s Beachwood Brewing.
The Paint and Sip activity is $15 per person and will be offered twice during the Art in the Park event. Times are 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., or 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Registration is limited to 50 participants per session. To register, visit ggcity.org/artinthepark.
Art in the Park will also feature a number of other interactive craft booths; live performances from GGUSD students; and a 6-foot high by 50-foot long temporary art installation of the word “RE:IMAGINE,” designed by GGUSD intermediate and high school students.
GGUSD’s 42nd annual First Impressions Student Art Exhibit, showcasing the artistic talents of GGUSD’s K-12th grade students, will once again be located at the Garden Grove Courtyard Center, in Village Green park, at 12732 Main Street. Opening day is on Saturday, March 7, at 8:00 a.m. The exhibit will remain open until Friday, March 13.

In keeping with the City’s Reimagine Garden Grove efforts, the annual Art in the Park furthers the City’s goal to enhance Garden Grove’s downtown public gathering places through community art and culture, and beautifying open spaces.
