New Merchants at Anaheim Packing House

Tell the neighbors, someone new has moved in. Three new someone’s to be exact. The Anaheim Packing District features the Packing House, a contemporary food hall featuring unique culinary delights, ranging from French pastries to waffle sandwiches. With the new year, three new tenants have moved into the Packing House.

Get to know who’s new in the neighborhood.

As you enter the Packing House, the life motto “Eat like no one is watching” comes to mind. In the case of Sweetbird, let’s hope no one is watching because they may try to steal some of your lunch.

Sweetbird opened with the Packing House in January 2018, bringing their fried chicken sandwiches to the people of Anaheim. Diners can choose between the Original Sweetbird, Smokey and Citrus-flavored chicken. The Zesty Citrus-flavored chicken is served with citrus slaw, aioli and B&B pickles upon a buttery bun, which sounds like a perfect choice to honor the building’s history as a citrus packing plant.

Once you select from the trio of flavors, you’ll definitely want to add a side order of smashed potatoes, which are roasted, deep fried and served with sea salt, pepper and parsley. Still hungry? Try the fried pickles!

Mangal by Aleppo’s Kitchen

Aleppo’s Kitchen, a family-owned Mediterranean restaurant specializing in Syrian cuisine, has expanded to include Mangal by Aleppo’s Kitchen within the Anaheim Packing House. Mangal brings family favorites from the flagship restaurant and Syrian street foods from the owners’ homeland.

With a name derived from barbecue, Mangal does barbecue well. Choose an entree, sides and a sauce in this fast-casual dining atmosphere. First time at Mangal? Start with a kabob of either shish tawook (marinated chicken) and kofta (ground beef, onions and spices). There’s also a vegetarian falafel offering.

SEED People’s Market

In addition to the numerous culinary choices available within the food hall, the Packing House hosts retail spaces as eclectic as their dining. Check out SEED People’s Market for “products with a purpose.”

SEED’s People’s Market offers visitors to the Packing House home goods curated from local and global merchants, along with Packing House merchandise. Grab a citrus flavored candle or the goods needed for a picnic on Farmer’s Park.

The market is housed on carts, just inside the Packing House doors. Newly opened is the SEED Welcome Room expanding the eco-friendly brand’s presence to include more culinary items, locally sourced packaged foods and organically grown plants.

The Packing House is located at 440 S. Anaheim Blvd, Anaheim, CA, 92805.
