Family-Friendly Hidden Gems in Anaheim

For most families, the word Anaheim is synonymous with Disneyland. But, there is so much more for families to do in this Orange County city. Here are 10 Hidden Gems you won’t want to miss during your next trip to Anaheim!!

Anaheim Packing House

It’s hard to believe this trendy food hall, packed with fantastic artisan eateries, was once was a citrus packinghouse. These days you will find tons of Instagram-worthy delicacies at the Anaheim Packing House. Everything from soul food to beer & waffles! The munchkins are keen on Snow Monsters Cotton Candy-rimmed Thai Tea - it’s a showstopper for sure!

SwingIt Trapeze

Who hasn’t wanted to join the circus at some point? Well, you can get the training you need at SwingIt Trapeze School. Nothing beats flying through the air on a trapeze. You will be amazed just how much you and your kids will learn in just one lesson. Just beware it’s addictive!

Vans Skate Park

My kids are SoCal natives, but they had never been taught how to ride a skateboard properly, let alone skate down ramps. Which is why they LOVED Vans Skate Park located at the Outlets at Orange. Their instructor Devon had all four beginners skating down ramps, up & down the half pipe and he even let them slide on their bums in the famous Combi Replica Pool- they weren’t quite ready to skate down that bad boy this time around!

Ever had the urge to put on a flight suit and pretend you were Maverick or Goose? Well, Anaheim is home to the only FlightDeck simulator in the world where you can do just that! After a quick flight course and jumpsuit fitting, you get to hop into a simulator and experience aerial maneuvers at 600 knots as well as air-to-air combat!! The munchkins gave FlightDeck two thumbs up!!

Take ‘em Out to a Ball Game

If you happen to visit Anaheim during baseball season you have to catch an Angels game. The Angel Stadium is super family-friendly and they even pack a little extra fun for kids during promotional and themed events for kids. Don’t forget to order their helmet nachos - yum!!

Center Street Promenade

This revitalized historic downtown area is super trendy and jam-packed with fabulous shops and eateries. We love their Farmer’s Market – open every Thursday. We recommend grabbing tacos at Pour Vida and finishing it up with a Nitro Cold Brew from Ink & Bean!

Discovery Cube

Little ones will LOVE checking out all of the interactive exhibits at the Discovery Cube in Orange County. And, parents will enjoy watching their kids have fun while learning. Make sure to check their calendar because they put on some spectacular events like their Annual Bubblefest!

Dave & Buster’s

If you have never been to a Dave & Buster’s you are missing out. This place is fun for ALL ages!!! Enjoy delicious food, play in the giant arcade, watch your favorite games on one of their many big screens and hit up their phenomenal prize shop on your way out!

Medieval Times

Treat your family to a royal feast as you watch live jousting and incredible performances by some of the most beautiful horses at Medieval Times. The kids will get a kick out of the fact that the entire dinner is served without utensils. They also have vegetarian options available, which I thought were fantastic!

Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance

Anaheim is packed with tons of hotels so it can be hard to try and figure out which one would be good for your family. The Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance is a fantastic option! Located directly across from the Disneyland’s main gate this new hotel is the perfect starting point to explore both the theme parks and the hidden gems in Anaheim. We loved their large family suites that sleep up to 6 and have two separate showers!! The munchkins also LOVED the hotel’s on-site waterpark and watching the Disneyland fireworks from our hotel room.
