What is the inspiration behind Cultivation Kitchen?

Cultivation Kitchen was created by Dale LaFlam, who believes in offering our community a place to gather, eat and reconnect with nature. We serve creative, delicious and healthy meals, sourced from local, organic and sustainable producers. Above all, Cultivation Kitchen is about the human connection. We believe in giving back, hence our participation in offsetting our carbon footprint by planting trees, and donating part of our revenue to a local farm who provides for the homeless in Anaheim.  

What are some of the best ingredients to eat during winter? 

Squash, cauliflower and potatoes are winter ingredients we use at the restaurant. We would also recommend eating cabbage, sweet potatoes, Brussel sprouts and greens.

What are some of your favorite dishes available this season at Cultivation Kitchen?

Our favorite winter dish is the Sustainable Salmon with Baked Rainbow Potatoes and Roasted Cauliflower. For a vegetarian option, try the tofu with sides such as the Roasted Butternut Squash & Toasted Sunflower Seeds or the Red Quinoa.

What is your favorite way to enjoy winter at Cultivation Kitchen? 

One of my favorite things is to cozy up in a blanket around a fire, with family or friends and enjoy a good cup of chai tea. You can do just that and more at Cultivation. We encourage people to gather at our fire pits, and offer comfy blankets and lots of games for you to build beautiful memories with your close ones. We serve a very unique Masala Chai tea and exceptional lattes.

Why is it important to eat food during its particular growing season?

Eat seasonal! Do it for your health and for the planet. By eating seasonal ingredients you’re supporting eco-friendly farming. Seasonal produce requires minimal artificial help because it grows naturally in your local region. Also, it allows the earth to enrich itself in the nutrients it needs for the next seasonal crops. Moreover, your health will thank you as you will get more nutritional value from seasonal produce which is fresher and meant for your regional climate. We have evolved with the seasons for thousands of years. Our bodies and the earth are in deep need of reconnecting with our natural cycles.
