The Vegetable Special is highly recommended and offers a bevy of 15 different vegetarian stews to spread around the plate, with Injera bread for dipping. (Injera is made with teff, a tiny, round grain that flourishes in the highlands of Ethiopia. While teff is very nutritious, it contains practically no gluten.) The cuisine is fresh and colorful and the staff is friendly and helpful for those needing assistance to navigate the incredible menu.

Well, the name kind of says it all, now doesn't it? This is a vegan and vegetarian hang-out right along the Center Street Promenade at Lemon Street. They get it. Take for example the very popular, curly yam fries---or the kale chips. They also prepare tacos, Portobello mushroom burger, and so forth. The Mango Tango Salad gets rave reviews as well. The space is very open, with tables and chairs strewn about, and an outdoor patio as well. The food is presented in more of a 'take out' style, which is just fine. Don't miss the chocolate chip cookies.

This restaurant caters to the vegans, vegetarians and those who enjoy Vietnamese cuisine as well. What a perfect marriage. They do not use any animal products in their cooking and are proud to explain how things are prepared for their cherished guests. Here are just a few of the most popular items: Bo Bun Hue is a tofu cube and noodle soup with vegetables in a rich broth. The Kung Pao Chicken (made with tofu and" a 1-10 spicy range), Pumpkin Curry, Spring Rolls with soy shrimp, and " jicama Spring Rolls as well." This gem is just two blocks from Angeles Stadium and features a lovely bar, dining room and outside patio, with ample seating, a fire pit and large flat-screen TVs. The cuisine is Mediterranean offering many choices for vegans. The Mezze Appetizer is one such item. Guests can choose from a number of vegetarian items, such as: Zov's Creamy Hummus," Babaganoush, Lebni, Tabouleh, Walnut Caviar Red Pepper Feta Dip, Stuffed Grape Leaves, Armenian String Cheese, which are served with pita bread and marinated olives. " Another winner is her famous Golden Lentil Soup, and the Angel Hair Pasta tossed with garlic, shallots, Roma tomatoes, basil, parsley, pine nuts and feta cheese. Delightful!

BONUS! Adya's Recipe for Roasted Corn Salad
Grilled corn is popular on the streets of India, where it's roasted over hot coals and then rubbed with half a lime dipped in chili powder and salt." Using the same flavor profiles Chef Shachi created a salad that would make a delicious addition to any barbecue."
4 cups corn, roasted and cut off cob (about 12 ears)
1 cup grape tomatoes, halved
1 tsp minced serrano
4 Tbsp chopped cilantro
¼ cup red onion, minced
¾ cup olive oil
3T lime juice
1 "½ tsp roasted cumin powder
1 tsp Chaat Masala
3 t salt
2 cups baby arugula
To Roast Corn:
Prepare a grill, with heat medium-high and rack about 4 inches from the fire.
Put corn on grill and cook until kernels begin to char, about 5 minutes, then turn.
Continue cooking and turning until all sides are slightly blackened."
To Roast Cumin:
In a medium saute pan, put in "½ cup of cumin seeds over medium-low flame."
Continue to toast, shaking occasionally until slightly darker and fragrant."
Remove from heat, cool slightly and grind.
For Mixing the Salad: In a large bowl, mix together all ingredients except the arugula. Serve over arugula.
