Top 10 Orange County Breweries

Over the last five years, Orange County has built a name for itself with a burgeoning craft brew scene. Anaheim alone is home to 14 breweries, with others like Modern Times’s 32,000-square-foot Leisuretown compound on the way. Dozens more have popped up across the county, including local brewpubs from major names like Karl Strauss, Golden Road and Saint Archer. Take a tour of the top tasting rooms with this list of OC-exclusive breweries.

Bottle Logic Brewing

The brewery behind the highly sought-after vanilla Russian Imperial Stout (Fundamental Observation) offers a tasting room and dog-friendly patio for enjoying its small-batch ales and IPAs. An expansion project is in the works to make this Anaheim tasting room perfect for larger parties and private events.

The Bruery

Founder Patrick Rue has gained notoriety throughout the craft industry for his innovative barrel-aged flavors such as the prized Black Tuesday imperial stout. A fixture at beer competitions across the country, The Bruery is based in Placentia and offers up to 40 beers on tap in its tasting room, regular food truck meet-ups in the parking lot and weekend tours.

Barley Forge

Bar games and fresh popcorn are hallmarks of this beloved Costa Mesa brewery, which also features a tasting room with ample seating to sample flights of its aromatic brews, like the Orange Curtain IPA, Nom Nom mango hefe and the Patsy coconut stout on nitro.

Noble Ale Works

The Anaheim brewers behind the award-winning Nose Candy IPA are planning a major expansion in late 2017, with a brand-new tasting room space to accommodate larger groups. Stop by for a tasting flight or pint before a game at Angel Stadium!

Four Sons Brewing

Though this Surf City Brewery’s Coco amber has a local cult following, its Irish red ale (O’Sonset) took top honors at the 2017 U.S. Open of Beer Champion. Visit the tasting room to enjoy more than 10 beers by the glass or as a flight, including limited-edition pours on rotating taps.

Left Coast Brewing Co.

Generous 5-ounce tasters can be enjoyed at this San Clemente brewery and tasting room, which serves 15 IPAs, stouts and lagers on tap such as the gold medal-winning Trestles IPA and Del Mar St. Lager.

Cismontane

Two locations in Rancho Santa Margarita and Santa Ana offer ample opportunity for visitors to taste beers whose names reflect features in the local area, like the American El Modena Mild named for volcanic rock found only in the Orange Hills.

Legends Brewing

Known for brewing both ales and lagers, Legends has 5.5-ounce tasters of its 10 beers on tap. Sample a flight from a seat in one of the comfy high-back tasting room chairs.

Riip Beer

From humble origins as a beer and bread coach, Riip Beer Co. has grown to take home a silver medal at last year’s Great American Beer Festival. Try a taster or pint of the award-winning Super Cali IPA, or one of the other nine beers on tap in the Huntington Beach tasting room.

Anaheim Brewery

With a rich pre-Prohibition history, it’s no surprise that Anaheim Brewery pays homage to its past with its flagship beer—the award-winning Anaheim 1888. Try the amber lager, a malty Anaheim Red and eight others in the centrally located tasting room and outdoor beer garden that seats up to 100 people.
