Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) and video game players, supporters, and fans from around the world will converge in Anaheim for the 2017 Pokémon World Championships the weekend of August 18th – 20th. The Anaheim Convention Center is hosting the invitation-only event where the most elite Pokémon players from more than 30 countries will compete for the coveted title of 2017 Pokémon World Champion. More than $500,000 in scholarships and prizes will be up for grabs at the pinnacle Pokémon event of the year. Thousands will attend the action-packed weekend which also features several activities for spectators such as non-competitive play and appearances from costumed characters.

The 2017 Pokémon World Championships will begin with Opening Ceremonies on Friday, August 18th at 9:00am and continue through Saturday. Final rounds for both TCG and video game will take place throughout the day Sunday, August 20th in advance of the Closing Ceremonies and trophy presentation.
