From April 25 to May 16, 2013 the Aquarium will hold a course taught by leading artists and experts exploring the power of integrating the arts and science to enhance environmental communication.
The Integration of Art & Science to Enhance Environmental Communication
The Aquarium of the Pacific is a leader in integrating the arts in all their modalities with the sciences to create and deliver environmental messages. It does so in ways that engage, entertain, educate, and make emotional connections that lead to changes in attitude and behavior. Join leading artists and scientists in exploring the power of partnerships in addressing major environmental issues. Aquatic Academy includes a series of four evening classes fostering dialogue on complex and pressing issues related to the ocean and environment.
  • April 25- Overview of the course; its goals and objectives and The Sciences and The Arts: Two different and complementary domains.
  • May 2- Focus on the Performing Arts
  • May 9- Focus on Design and the Visual Arts
  • May 16- The Power of Messaging and Story
Parking will be validated for course participants. CEU Credit offered in conjunction with CSULB.
Course fees are $50 for public, $40 for Aquarium members. $10 extra for CEU credit.
