The Olde Ship" transports you to an authentic British pub the moment you walk in. Its tight quarters, wooden stool and countertop seating, lively crowd, and stocked bar make you feel right at home '€“ as their motto states, '€œYou'll be a stranger here but once.'€

Price Range: The average price per plate is $12, with most entrees ranging from $10-$25.

Types of Food: The Olde Ship British Pub" offers authentic British cuisine, including fish & chips, corned beef, bangers and mash, Yorkshire pudding and steak and kidney pie. Because the British occupied India from 1858 until 1947, many of their traditional cuisine contains Indian influence. As such, you'll find items like chicken tikka and chicken and vegetable curry on the menu as well. If you aren't feeling quite so adventurous, you can always order The Ship's Famous Clam Chowder, The Captain's Burger, or a turkey or grilled cheese sandwich. They also offer over 20 British draught beers and 20 single malts '€“ so take your pick!

Atmosphere/Attire:" The Olde Ship" transports you to an authentic British pub the moment you walk in. Its tight quarters, wooden stool and countertop seating, lively crowd, and stocked bar make you feel right at home '€“ as their motto states, '€œYou'll be a stranger here but once.'€ Attire is casual.

Service/Efficiency: If you come on a Friday or Saturday night, don't expect to be in and out. It's a small restaurant and it gets pretty full on the weekends. Service can be slow when it's crowded and there is usually a wait, so be sure and allow yourself time to enjoy a few British beers and the authentic atmosphere.

Best Time To Go: If you want a quiet experience, go on a weeknight. But if you're looking for a good place to hang out with friends at the bar, go on Friday or Saturday.

Kid-Friendly?: It is a pub, after all, so it's really better suited for adults. However, they do have a children's menu.

My Insider Tips and Final Thoughts:

  • Although I've never been to England, I get the feeling" The Olde Ship" is a pretty good representation of your average British Pub. I've read several positive reviews from customers who say it makes them nostalgic for the real thing.
  • Enjoy a little something for FREE! Print this coupon for a free appetizer when you order any entree." I suggest the onion rings '€“ they are homemade with a thick, crispy batter and you won't be able to eat just one... or two, or three.
  • As far as entrees go, you can't go wrong with the fish and chips '€“ they're delicious! When it comes to dessert, don't leave without trying the sticky toffee pudding '€“ this traditional British dessert rarely gets negative reviews.
