Did you know that you can look for '€œHidden Mickeys'€ throughout the entire Disneyland Resort? A '€œHidden Mickey'€ is a representation of Mickey Mouse hidden subtly in attractions and various locations throughout the resort.

A true Hidden Mickey is not meant to be seen immediately, and is usually placed purposefully by a Disney Imagineer. You will mainly spot the most common Hidden Mickey, a silhouette of Mickey'€™s head with one large circle and two smaller circles as ears, hidden throughout the parks and hotels."

As a Disneyland fan myself, I have spent some time seeking out a few of these Hidden Mickeys. It'€™s a lot of fun to hunt for Hidden Mickeys with family or friends while you'€™re walking through the parks or waiting in a line. Here are a few of my favorite Hidden Mickeys that are fun to look for:"

  • Haunted Mansion (Disneyland):" Once inside, look at the long table when you enter the dining room where all the ghosts are dancing. You will see the arrangement of plates in the shape of a classic Mickey head!"
  • Indiana Jones (Disneyland): on the" attraction, when you first enter the mummy room, look to your left and you will see a skeleton wearing a Mickey hat! This one goes by quick so be sure to look fast!
  • Tower of Terror (Disney California Adventure Park): watch for the little girl in the video- she is holding a vintage Mickey Mouse doll. If you are directed to the lower-level elevators as you proceed through the line, look at the pressure gauges on the ground level and you will see another Hidden Mickey!"
  • Disney'€™s Grand Californian Hotel:" there'€™s a classic Mickey on the face of the Grandfather Clock in the lobby. You may not see it at first, but it will appear!

Although there is no official Hidden Mickey list put together by the Imagineers themselves, there are many websites and books that list Hidden Mickey sightings. I purchased Disneyland'€™s Hidden Mickeys: A Field Guide To Disneyland Resort'€™s Best Kept Secrets by Steven M. Barret at a shop in Downtown Disney and found a ton of Hidden Mickeys in places I never thought to look!

Good luck out there on your Hidden Mickey-seeking adventures, and be sure to keep an eye out for the brand new ones at the Cars Land in Disney California Adventure this summer!
