ANAHEIM, CALIF. (May 15, 2017) — “Breakfast with The Beatles,” the longest running Beatles radio program in the U.S., is coming to Hilton Anaheim on Sunday, May 28, for a special transatlantic broadcast celebrating the 50th anniversary of the enduring classic song, “All You Need is Love.”
Co-sponsored by Visit Anaheim, KLOS 95.5 FM’s “Breakfast with The Beatles” live broadcast will take place in Hilton Anaheim’s MIX Lounge in the hotel’s lobby with a traditional English breakfast and other brunch favorites served from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Brunch is $45 for adults and $25 for kids under 12. Complimentary self-parking is available to all brunch guests.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Anaheim Elementary School Music Program, which works to ensure all students have the opportunity to receive genuine, quality music instruction within their school day.
To make a brunch reservation, please call (714) 740-4442 or visit OpenTable.com.
The theme of the brunch will be “All You Need is Love on Both Sides of the Atlantic” to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the universally loved song. Simultaneously, the radio show will be streamed LIVE at Hilton Liverpool for “Dinner with the Beatles.” Hilton Liverpool’s culinary team will prepare American-style burgers and fries. Both Hilton Anaheim and Hilton Liverpool will be connected via Live Stream to bring the UK and U.S. together.
Show host Chris Carter will pay tribute to the 50th anniversary of the Beatle’s groundbreaking “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” album with special guests BBC Radio Merseyside’s Billy Butler, Wings guitarist Denny Lane, City of Anaheim Mayor Tom Tait and City of Liverpool Mayor Joe Anderson.
“There is a direct line from the inspiring power of ‘All You Need is Love’ to the culture of kindness we have built today in Anaheim,” Mayor Tait said. “The genuine kindness inherent in ‘All You Need is Love’ is a simple yet impactful idea that can change a person, a family, a neighborhood, a city, and, ultimately, the world.”
Hilton has a long history with the Beatles, who stayed at Hilton Midtown’s Presidential Suite during their first American tour in 1964. John Lennon and Yoko Ono spent their honeymoon at Hilton Amsterdam where they staged the first of two bed-ins for peace, and John Lennon’s hand-written lyrics to his 1971 No. 1 hit single “Imagine” is preserved on New York Hilton Hotel stationary.
The “All You Need is Love on Both Sides of the Atlantic” radio broadcast is the brainchild of the hotel’s General Manager Shaun Robinson, who hails from Liverpool.
“Just like the Beatles, the Hilton brand is global. We created this event to celebrate the Beatles with our guests and reflect on the ways that their music continues to influence our lives 50 years later,” said Robinson.
